But were you really listening?
By now you've heard, or at least heard about, the "Berlin speech" delivered by His Imperial Majesty, Barak H. Obama. You may even have heard from his media sycophants, overflowing with their obligatory fawning and gushing praise.
But, hidden in plain sight within his flowery rhetoric, he actually did tell us precisely what to expect from an Obama presidency...for those who were listening, that is.
For those weren't, here are some of the things you can expect:
Trans-national socialism - Obama clearly stated his belief that American prosperity isn't "fair" and so we should bear the brunt of welfare programs for the "developing" nations around the world. This will have an enormous negative impact on our standard of living.
A huge increase in taxes, and not just on "the rich" - anyone with a job will pay more. And even if you are so poor you pay no taxes, remember that every penny of taxes levied on "the rich" or "big business" will be passed on to YOU in the form of higher prices on everything you buy. Regardless of your economic situation, you will have less money left in your pocket at the end of the year.
A vast expansion of government regulation in every aspect of your life - from government run health care to federally mandated light bulbs. By the time Obama and the Democrat Congress get through, you will be lucky if you don't need a permit to buy potato chips (if they haven't banned them).
Your children will gradually become virtual wards of the state - you will face an army of busy-body social workers ready to pounce on you for everything from smoking in front of your children to feeding them "unhealthy" food. And at earlier and earlier ages, they will be subjected (under the guise of "education") to relentless brain washing in liberal dogma - Joe Stalin would be proud.
Higher (much higher) fuel and energy costs - liberal Democrats have said NO to drilling in Alaska, NO to drilling offshore, NO to drilling in the Rockies, NO to nuclear, NO to clean coal.
But these are the very same people who said YES to mammoth government subsidies for the now failed ethanol scam, and they will demand more new taxpayer funding for windmills, solar panels, and every other scheme that liberal crackpots can dream up - and "dream" is the operative word.
Obama and his cohorts in the Congress will push for Kyoto style restrictions on both business and individuals to prevent mythical man-made global warming (oops, I mean "climate change"), and the affect on the American economy will be nothing short of disastrous.
Gun Control - Obama now claims to support the 2nd Amendment, since the Supreme Courts ruling in the D.C. gun ban lawsuit...but wait, he supported the D.C. gun ban before the decision, and he publicly endorsed the repeal of all concealed carry laws (he gets armed body-guards - you get....a cell-phone).
The anti-gun fundamentalists have a huge war chest provided by rich liberal "non-profits" and foundations. They have even said publicly that they are "just waiting for a sympathetic President" to redouble their efforts to strip you of your rights. So beware.
Our national security will be seriously compromised, because Obama will cede American sovereignty to the "world community" (a.k.a. the UN). He will also move to dismantle the American armed forces. Obama does not hate our soldiers, but like most liberals, he hates the very idea of a military - it
conflicts with the increasingly pacifist mentality of the American Left.
Thus he would seek to disarm, not our enemies, but America, even to the point of eliminating our nuclear deterrent, in the insane hope that the world's most violent regimes and terrorist organizations might suddenly decide to cease being a threat to us.
And this is but a hint of what's in store for us if too many of you fail to listen to exactly what His Majesty is saying.
