Remember - when the first plane hit...and we all tried to tell ourselves that it must have been an accident.
Remember - when the second plane hit...and we were forced to face the nauseating truth that what was happening was nothing less than an act of war.
Remember - when, as people were running out of the smoldering buildings...hundreds of New York firefighters ran in...never to return.
And perhaps more than anything else...
Remember - when a young man and woman held hands while standing on a
window ledge of the 90th floor of the World Trade Center...then jumped
to their deaths.
Remember...
